Job Description
This default management position will allow this employee to achieve business objectives by directly managing an effective team responsible for the processing and review of Conventional and/or Government Claims, in addition to the relationship between Investor Reporting and Asset Recovery. This manager will ensure procedures, processes and programs across departments are in support of strategic goals and Service Levels. Operational excellence is of significant magnitude and important to the execution of corporate business strategies and achievement of company objectives. This position will report to the Department Manager of the Claims Unit and will have up to 12 associates reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
· Provide oversight to all functions relating to Claims processing by managing staff, reports and Service Levels to our Investors and Insurers.
· Direct management and accountability for the operational efficiencies within the organization as well as vendor relationships for Claims as necessary. This includes Risk Management and mitigation of exposure levels putting WaMu at risk.
· Direct management for Service Levels to investors and insurers as well as the responsibility to build positive and productive relationships with all our internal and external customers, including the investors.
· Interact with Senior Management regarding trend analysis and operational efficiencies. As needed presenting in front of Sr. Management for the purpose of communicating new initiatives and projects.
· Provide direction and expertise to functional subordinates in assigned area; ensure subordinates are provided with the appropriate tools to successfully execute responsibilities; manage the achievements of established performance goals, conduct performance appraisal reviews; document performance; and recommend, execute, and approve disciplinary action.
Qualifications
Min. yr. of experience required: Five years of experience in a mortgage servicing environment, 1-2 years in Default Servicing environment and Supervisory experience preferred.
Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
Skills: Excellent organizational skills. Proficient in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, MSP, Access and the Internet.
Excellent written communication, interpersonal skills and Problem Solving; Detail oriented; Hands on experience with various computer spreadsheet applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Knowledge -Familiar with the FNMA and FHLMC guidelines, timeframes and knowledge of all areas with Default Servicing.
