The Senior Accountant applies principles of accounting to analyze and prepare financial information. · Including preparation and analysis of journal entries, allocations and financial statements. Also participates in the preparation of the Quarterly Financial Report package; supplies documentation as required by the internal and external auditors. · Fixed Assets - Maintenance of the asset ledger by using the fixed asset accounting software package including calculation of depreciation and preparation of required journal entries. Also includes administration of the Capital Plan Status Report. Requires periodic interaction with the parent company Tax Director. · General Ledger - Account reconciliation's including fixed assets, bank accounts, salary accrual, vacation accrual, sales tax payable, prepaid accounts, commissions and other accounts as required. · Payroll - Process through PCPW information from HRP (new hires/terminations), information to record on grid i.e. salary vacation records, direct deposits, child support and garnishments. Prepare and post payroll journal to Visual. · Accounting Support - Approve daily A/P batches and research with Controller/Cost Accountant PPV or problems. Prepare and balance Intercompany entries. · Other - Prepares sales and property tax returns. · Internal Control: Supports the Controller with Sarbanes-Oxley Sec. 404 requirements.
Three to five years of accounting experience. Bachelor's degree in accounting or a combination of professional accounting education and relevant experience · Ability to administer moderately complex accounting functions with only general supervision. · Excellent computer skills. (MS Office, strong knowledge of Excel). · Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting · Facility with automated ERP or accounting software systems · Exceptional problem solving ability. · Ability to meet deadlines · Excellent oral and written communication skills.
