Maintenance Mechanic

Position Description
· Reads repair job order and perform the diagnosis of:
  routine maintenance repairs,
  preventive maintenance inspections,
  trouble shooting and systematic problem detecting of systems (i.e. hydraulic, electronic, mechanical, A/C)
· Plan work procedures to repair vehicle.
· Installs new ignition systems, changes or recharges batteries, replaces transmissions and other parts, and overhauls gas or diesel engines.
· Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments.
· Lubricates moving parts and drives
· Mount and dismount tires.
· Perform preventive maintenance per company standards.
Additional duties include: focus on customer service and the adherence to safety and environmental policies and procedures.
· May travel to other facilities to perform duties of fleet mechanic

Position Requirements
· 3+ years recent fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance experience in a shop environment.
· 1+ years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required.
· Gasoline, diesel and propane vehicle experience preferred.
· Must be able to demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude.
· Operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment.
· Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of vehicles.
· Perform preventative maintenance in fleet.
· Knowledge of D.O.T. and FMCSA guidelines.
· Strong communication and teamwork skills.
· Must have your own tools. (Not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools.)
· Superior knowledge of electrical and air-conditioning systems.
· Medium-duty truck experience preferred.
· Strong work ethic and dependable character
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with KM's insurance standards.
· Have a steady employment history.
· Successful completion of company background check and drug screen upon job offer.
· Ability to attain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration).
· ASE Certifications are a plus.
· Must be willing and able to work any shift.
