Job Description
Coordinate the day-to-day food production activities for all food needs in the nutrition center/cook chill department to ensure high quality food and service and excellent associate development.

Recipe to Succeed:

· Plan, direct and manage the scheduling, preparation, service and storage of food.
· Ensure that the planned menu is followed.
· Maintain proper portion control, batch cooking and basic quality requirements and procedures are followed for all foods.
· Comprehend operation of basic kitchen equipment to ensure its safe and sanitary operation.
· Organize, enforce and maintain standards for the safe and sanitary operation of the department.
· Requisition food and supplies and ensure that they are received, stored, issued and utilized in an efficient and effective manner, as directed by the Center supervisor.
· Assists supervisor with recipe development and testing.
· Participate in maintenance of the department budget.
· Mentors, trains and coaches cooks and other food service employees.
· Reviews menus and analyze recipes.

Necessary Ingredients:
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, plus meaningful experience and skill, including the ability to perform duties described in this job description. Associate's degree in the hospitality field preferred
· Minimum of 2 years as a working Chef
· Kitchen management experience preferred
· Knowledge of quantity food production
· Comprehension of basic kitchen equipment to ensure its safe and sanitation operation
· Ability to train subordinates on proper and safe use of kitchen equipment
· Exhibits creativity and outstanding presentation skills
· Possesses a flexible communication style
· ServSafe Certification desired
