Collections Manager

Job Description: The Collections Manager will work under the direction of the Director of a Credit Manager to develop and implement plans for the Department to meet the overall Company and Department strategic objectives. Will manage a staff of up to 25 individuals who are engaged primarily in the collection and problem dispute functions. Focus will be on certain brands or geographic areas and as such may also have limited responsibility for credit approval, order hold release and customer master activity. Responsible for all hiring and training in his or her area; may also be involved in the creation of training modules and in the development, establishment and documentation of policy and procedures across all functions of the Department: Credit, Cash application and Collection. Will have responsibility for the monthly bad debt review for defined aging buckets for his / her account responsibility. From a business perspective, the Collection Manager will act as the Business liaison for specific brands. In this role, individual will have frequent contact with all levels of the Company: sales representatives, sales managers, Customer Service, Accounting, Senior Business Management. He or she will be involved in negotiations with largest customers on risk collection and keeping Senior Management informed of changes in trends, risk status. Will be responsible for monthly brand portfolio reporting of AR aging status, highest risk collection issues and trends. Responsible for improving the productivity of the collection department and improving the quality of the receivable asset by reviewing and improving collection process and methodology, training of collectors. Will work closely with the Credit Management team to recommend and implement changes to policy and procedure across all functions of the department.
